Shiatsu, or literally translated “finger pressure”, is a holistic body massage that originally comes from Japan and also incorporates knowledge of Chinese medicine with regard to the meridians or energy channels in the body.

The contact technique of Shiatsu encompasses much more than "pressing with the finger": hands, thumbs, elbows and knees are used. In this gentle contact, pressure is not applied in the sense of an actively applied force, but the practitioner works with their own body weight.

In addition, Shiatsu is also about establishing an energetic relationship between the practitioner and the client: in the "here and now" there is an interaction and an empathetic dialogue about the wellbeing of the customer.

To adjust to this person and his energy: that is the special art of Shiatsu. Shiatsu has a balancing, calming or stimulatory effect and supports the self-healing processes of body, mind and soul.

The Shiatsu contact, the core of Shiatsu

Through a mindful and deep touching, it's possible to perceive the life energy, to interact with it and stimulate its flow.

A contact in Shiatsu is created through a mindful touching and gentle leaning with the body.

Clients experience this as a healing pressure.

The work of Shiatsu practitioners is characterized by a respectful attitude and serenity.

Shiatsu is practiced on a mattress and fully clothed.
